Case IV.?S. B. ,admitted with trichiasis. Right eyelids very much thickened, and their margins covered with short bristly hairs. Some of the latter must have been for some time in contact with the cornea, for superficial corneitis and consider* able pannus were present, and vision much impaired in consequence. This condition existed in both eyes, but not so fa* advanced in the left. Operation for trichiasis by Yon Graefe 3 method was performed on the left upper lid. In a few words it is as follows :?An incision is made along the taisal margin to the extent of the existing trichiasis (in the above case the cilia of the whole breadth of the lid were peccant.) The punctum must be carefully avoided, and the knife guided between the hair bulbs and Meibonian glands. Two vertical incisions are now to be made through the skin and orbicular13 commencing at each extremity of the tarsal incision, ancl carried upwards to the extent of four lines. A small ellipse ot skin about eight lines in length and three in breadth is then excised from between the upper terminations of the vertical
